Church was AMAZING!! I loved it! I want to go back and whenever we are in Tlokweng we'll be there. Next Sunday we are traveling with Chuck somewhere that he is going to preach.
Anyway, back to the service. They have a worship team of young people, a keyboard player, a bass guitar player, and a drummer. Some songs were of course unfamiliar to this American but some were in English and I could sing along. They really enter into worship and these people love Jesus! After the singing was over the pastor began. He had Chuck introduce us and the translator got a really funny look on her face when she needed to say Wetterling. When they took the offering the people come forward and put their money into two large containers set on chairs. The pastor preaches in English and the lady translated it into Setswana. He preached a really great sermon. After the sermon and prayer, another man came up with a different translator to give the announcements and then the service was over.
I felt so blessed to be able to worship with this body of believers that live half a world away from me. All I can say is WOW!
After church we went to a lovely place for lunch. It is connected with a nursery where plants, etc. are sold. The eating area is all outside under huge trees and is really good. My chicken curry wrap was too spicy for me to eat so I'll no better next time.
Gotta wrap for now.
