Getting There -- Ashland is located on I-5. From the east, Ore. 66 connects Ashland with Klamath Falls.

The nearest airport is Medford's Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport, 3650 Biddle Rd. (tel. 541/776-7222), which is served by America West Airlines, Horizon Air, and Skywest Airlines (United Express). A taxi from the airport to Ashland will cost around $30 to $35. Call Yellow Cab (tel. 541/482-3065).

Getting Around -- If you need a taxi, call Yellow Cab (tel. 541/482-3065). Car-rental companies with offices at the Rogue Valley International Airport are Avis, Budget, Hertz, and National. Rogue Valley Transportation District (tel. 541/608-2400; www.rvtd.org) provides public bus service in the Ashland area.

Festivals -- The month-long Yuletide Holiday Festival of Light held each year in December is Ashland's other big annual festival.
