Getting There

By Plane -- Boise Airport (tel. 208/383-3110; www.cityofboise.org/transportation/airport), located about 3 miles south of the city center, serves much of southern Idaho with frequent service from most western and some midwestern hubs.

By Car -- The major route into Boise is I-84 from the southeast (Salt Lake City) and northwest (Portland and Seattle). Twenty-four-hour road conditions are available at tel. 208/336-6600.

Visitor Information Centers are located in the Boise Centre on the Grove, 850 W. Front St. (tel. 208/344-5338); and near the airport at 2676 Airport Way, near I-84 at the Vista Avenue exit (tel. 208/385-0362). Hours at both centers vary seasonally, so call before you go.
