    American Express -- American Express services are available in Alpharetta, Atlanta, LaGrange, Peachtree City, Richmond Hill, Rome, Roswell, and Savannah.

    Emergencies -- Dial tel. 911 for police, an ambulance, paramedics, or the fire department.

    Liquor Laws -- If you're 21 or over, you can buy alcoholic beverages in package stores between 8am and midnight (except on Sun, election days, Thanksgiving, and Christmas).

    Newspapers & Magazines -- The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is the state's leading daily newspaper.

    Taxes -- Georgia has a 7% sales tax, and an accommodations tax (room or occupancy tax) is often tacked onto your hotel bill. Counties also have the option of adding an extra .5% to 3% use tax.
