Arriving

By Train -- From the Estação do Rossio in Lisbon, take the Sintra line to Queluz. Departures during the day are every 15 minutes. The trip takes 30 minutes. There are two train stations in town. Get off at Queluz-Massamá since it is closer to the palace. A one-way ticket costs 1€ ($1.30). Call tel. 808/208-208 for schedules. At Queluz, turn left and follow the signs for less than 1km (3/4 mile) to the palace. Or else take bus no. 101 or 103, both of which run in front of the palace.

By Car -- From Lisbon, head west along the express highway (A1), which becomes Route 249. Turn off at the exit for Queluz. It usually takes 20 minutes.
