    Getting There -- If you're driving, RN20 (Paris-Toulouse-Andorra, Spain), RN113 (Bordeaux-Marseille), and the A61 motorway run through the Tarn-et-Garonne. Seven trains arrive here daily from Paris Gare d'Austerlitz (trip time: 5-6 hr.); trains arrive every hour from Toulouse (trip time: 25 min.).     Special Events -- The major cultural happening, the Festival Alors Chante (tel. 05-63-63-66-77; http://perso.wanadoo.fr/alors-chante), takes place during Ascension Week, which begins 40 days after Easter. The event showcases traditional French music and song, and offers performances by both stars and talented unknowns. Tickets cost 10€ to 35€ ($13-$46). The Festival de Jazz à Montauban (tel. 05-63-63-56-56; www.jazzmontauban.com), typically held the second week of July, fills the outdoor venues with blues and jazz concerts.
