    Getting There

    Hourly trains connect Arles and Avignon (20 min.; 6€-10€/$7.80-$13), Marseille (50 min.; 12€/$16) and Nîmes (20 min.; 6.90€/$8.95). For rail schedules and information, call tel. 36-35, or visit www.voyages-sncf.com. About four buses per day make the trip from Aix-en-Provence (trip time: 1 hr., 45 min.). For bus information, call tel. 08-10-00-08-16. If driving, head south along D570 from Avignon.

    Visitor Information

    The Office de Tourisme, where you can buy a billet global , is on esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle (tel. 04-90-18-41-20; fax 04-90-18-41-29; www.arles.org).

    Getting Around

    If you'd like to get around by bicycle, head for Magasin Payan, 18 av. De Général Vincent (tel. 04-66-22-13-94). All bikes rent for 15€ ($20) per day. Or seek out Cycles Peugeot, 15 rue du Pont (tel. 04-90-96-03-77), which rents bikes at 30€ ($39) per day.
