Getting There
Getting to Dorfgastein by train usually requires taking an express train from Salzburg to Schwarzach-St. Veit, 68km (42 miles) south of Salzburg, and transferring to a local train to Dorfgastein (trip time: 74-84 min.). For rail information in Salzburg, call tel. 05/1717, or visit www.oebb.at.
There's one daily bus that stops at Dorfgastein on its route between Salzburg's Mirabellplatz and its final destination in Badgastein.
If you're driving from Salzburg, take the A10 south to the junction with Route 311. Follow 311 southwest to the junction of Route 167, and take 167 south toward Badgastein.
Visitor Information
Dorfgastein's tourist office, in the center of town (tel. 06433/7277), is open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5:30pm, Sunday 9am to noon.
