Getting There -- Approximately two trains per hour, both local and some express trains passing between Klagenfurt and Villach, stop here throughout the day. The trip from Klagenfurt takes about 12 minutes; from Villach, it's about 15 minutes. For rail information, contact tel. 05/1717 (www.oebb.at).
Buses depart several times a day from Klagenfurt for Pörtschach. The trip takes 25 to 40 minutes. For bus information, call tel. 0463/54340 in Klagenfurt.
If you're driving from Klagenfurt, head west along Route 83 for 14km (9 miles).
Visitor Information -- The tourist office in the center of the resort (tel. 04272/281015) is open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 6pm, and Sunday 10am to 2pm.
