Everybody visiting NZ should atleast set aside a day to walk the glacier. I did the 3/4 trip which gives you 3-4.5 hours on the ice. What a fantastic experience and you don't have to be fit to do it. ...

Not as hard as you'd think as we are on the ice for 6hours and hiking in full for 8hours. Although it did get tedious towards the peak of our time on the ice before our descent i'd much rather do it ...
