The tire was fixed in a half hour  at the tire fixin place in Bismarck.  We were suppose to stay the night here but Joe was doing a lot of pacing and was antsy to get out of town and all these people.  He said what about seeing South Dakota.  Since everyone thought that was where we were going to begin with I said what the hell.... and after a small detour we were on the road again and heading south down the 1806 for the Prairie Knights Indian Reservation Casino and Resort. We checked into the casino/resort and fell in love instantly with our fresh, clean room. We were so tired that a three hour nap that afternoon, just took the edge off long enough to go the dinner and then hit the casino a while. We were given 5 dollars each free in casino money and invested 10 dollars into our gambling. We enjoyed the nickel and quarter slots. Joe’s eyes got a look of greed in them as ours turned to dimes and our winnings increased. We had so much fun cashing out and hearing our coins hit the catch container below. Up from where we started we decided to cash out before we lost it all. Joe could definitely be a gambler who would bet the farm but we put our last hard earned nickel in the slot and came up empty. At the cash out counter we cashed out with $26.00. With our ten dollars plus the ten the casino gave us we walked out 16 dollars richer!

The Casino has done a nice job of trying to educate people about the story of Standing Rock. The Native American Story references a scorned wife and her baby who refused to leave camp after her husband decided to leave her for another squaw. She sat even after the rest of the tribe deserted her and remained sitting. After a few days when the Indian sent two warrior Indians after her, for fear she would kill herself, they found she had turned to stone. The tribe took this as a message from the spirits and from then on carried her from location to location, making the stone figure the center of the tribe. She was given her final resting spot at the top of the mountain, now called Standing Rock where the casino now thrives.
