Texas, or more particularly Fort Worth, is according to the guide books knicknamed Cow town, although I think this also includes Dallas, but I can't be sure on that.

Well another wrm state both in actual temperature andin the friendliness of the people that I met, from the random guest at the same hotel that I checked into on the first night, to the person I was there to meet and her mum (mom for you Americans) who gladly put me up in her home.

Hmm what to say about Fort Worth, I didn't see a whole lot for a few reasons, but the main one is that I was just chatting too much - as you may be able to guess the friend I met was also female....

That area of Texas certainly likes things to be on the large size (just how big do American trucks get?) especially as 90% of the cars on the road all appeared to be trucks of some form or other.

I actually forgot to take many pictures of the area - only actually took a few from inside a bar area, which is a shame as there were things I should have taken pictures of, from the large angel statues blowing their golden trumpets on the side of a music hall (the name escapes me now).

To the real cowboys in all their gear, or should I say the real and fake cowboys that were walking around the stockyards area (there was even a very expensive cow auction going on)

I don't think I stayed there long enough to get a real feel of the place and maybe that is something I will rectify in the future but for now, the flying visit had to do as time is running out on me and there is still so much I had planned to see.

It's looking like I may put back my flight to NZ by a few days to fit it all in.....

Oh and links to the very few pictures I took in Miami is here
