We packed it in around 9:30 and are cruising down route I75 to Florida. Stopped at the Golden Arches and got some breakfast. Time 11:29 and we hit the Florida State line. At 1:30 we were driving into Ocala, FL (mega horse country) the temp was 81 degrees. We arrived at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park, 275 South Rock Crusher Road, Crystal River, FL (352-795-1313 at 2:30. Absolutely beautiful large shaded sites. We are on the back forty with no one behind us. This is definitely one that we will return to! Thank you Sue Love! We awoke to a sunny, bright and beautiful day. The excitement of finally going to a nice park was such a good feeling. Leaving Jones RV Park was like having a creamy on a hot day! Everything was going just as planned. As we were cruising down the highway the center visor detached on one side. There was no where to pull over to try to repair it. I held a broom on it so it wouldn’t completely detach. Then one of worse nightmares…the coach started loosing power, chugging and discharging white smoke from the tail pipe! Finally an exit appeared with a gas station that sold diesel ...

I looked out of the window several times during the night to see if it was snowing. It did start around seven. We just lay there trying to decide what would be the best thing to do. After a cup of coffee and some breakfast we decided to take a chance and head for Tullahoma. This would give Dave a day to rest up before starting on Monday…or so we thought. We were packed and were on the road by noon.

5/2/08 Dave worked in the morning and I stayed behind to finish packing and cleaning. We were on the road by about two-thirty. We ran into some heavy rain along with heavy traffic. Dave drove as far as Elizabeth, KY and then pulled into the local Wally’s World for the night. A few coaches were already there so we felt at home. We walked to Charley’s for dinner expecting what we had experienced at the Charley’s in Tullahoma. Didn’t happen...the wait and the service was terrible. Dave had to asked three times for extra tartar sauce and I had to ask twice for a spoon. The food was good ...

Sunny, breezy and a little chilly here in Perry, GA.

Took our time this morning. Had coffee and breakfast and looked up a local Verizon Store. We wanted to upgrade our cell phones. Even though Dave had lost his phone we were still eligible to upgrade the two phones. We decided on the chocolate. We then got back to the coach and headed to Jones RV Park in Norcross, GA.

We set up the coach, ate, relaxed a few minutes and went to bed early.

Faith and Sadi called this morning to wish us a happy anniversary. Faith said happy birthday….she’s such a card! All is well ...

Happy 34th anniversary to us!!! We arose this morning about 7:30. Grabbed a coffee and bowl of cereal and commenced to finishing up our packing to start our next road trip. We hit the trail around noon. As we were leaving Crystal River we stopped at a roadside stand and purchase some fresh shrimp, crab and a flat of strawberries. I can already taste them!!! It was sunny when we left but after about an hour it started to rain. We have to be thankful for all the nice days we’ve already had.

The park offers full hook ups, laundry, showers and propane. Most of the people that stay here are either just resting for a few days or overnight or are working temporarily in the area. The park is not set up for children. This is not a place for any long-term stay. Security does come by regularly. The sites are a good size.

We jumped in the jeep and were off to a Workamp Seminar held in Lakeland, FL. There was another fog warning posted for today. There was a seventy-car pile up on I-4 yesterday. Four people lost their lives but it could have been much worse. It was very foggy. In combination with the fog there was a control burn that had gone bad that added to the poor visibility. The fire that caused from this pile up was so intense that it melted the asphalt for several hundred. There was a fog warning once again this morning but the roads were all open. Visibility wasn’t a hundred percent but ...

Day trip out to Lake Mary to visit Kim and Steve. Uncle Carl and Aunt Bonnie were down for the holidays from Syracuse, NY also.

Kim started out with many horsdoeuvres including Uncle Carl's fine pickled sausage and pickles. This was accompanied by wine and beer...the beer bottles got shorter like Aunt Bonnie!!! ;)

Pizza was ordered and a little birdie told Kim that white pizza was my favorite. Little did I know that it was hers too!

For dessert Uncle Carl shared his homemade chocolate peanut butter cake...believe me this was very hard for him!

The house is packed and on the market for sale. It is a Horse lovers dream! This beautiful home is set up to move right in. Plenty of room to ride, train or just plain enjoy your horses. This large ranch home features four bedrooms,two baths, a spacious eat in kitchen, formal dining room and living room has a stone fireplace with Regency wood insert. Arrived at Keri’s house around one in the afternoon. Jordan came home from school sick. We backed the coach in Keri’s yard without any problem. Keri came home around four thirty. Ben her boyfriend and Keri’s Mom were there too. Rocky picked up the boys around seven thirty. Keri made soup and salad for dinner. We ate drank and shot the breeze until around one am.

Keri came out and said she had breakfast ready. Sausage and biscuits…it was great! He went out to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things. Keri went into work and Ben went to a friend’s house. Keri went into work for a couple of hours. ...

We are beginning a new chapter in our lives. In April of this year we retired and began our life as full-time RV travelers in our motorcoach. This is something we have dreamed of for many years.

Our plan is to visit interesting destinations in every state in the US and as much of Mexico and Canada as we can get to.

Today November 12, 2007 after parting with as many of unecessary items as we can and cleaning out our house for sale we began our journey.

Perfect day for a ride. We took a trip to New Port Richey to visit Grammy (Marion E.) Hoyt…DOB 08/01/1904. She is at rest in Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens. So beautiful & peaceful place near the outside altar. Dave was relieved to see that the place Grampy had chosen for her was such a wonderful place. This was the much needed closure that Dave needed. It was good to see that Grampy had planned to be buried there too as his name was on the stone…this was also nice to know. We placed flowers in the urn on her marker. We miss her very much.

We drove four and a half hours to get 38 miles to our destination at Aquia Pines Camping Resort. The campsite was peaceful. We caught up on much needed rest and recuperation. Ok for a layover. Very wooded tight sites and a little pricey.

Spent the day touring. Visited the Gaylord Opry Land Resort…inside we saw Hall of Trees, they had many shops, restaurants and did boat rides through the hotel. Hall of Trees donations received will be given to their respective charity. The one that collects the most amount of money will be awarded a "best in show" trophy. Each tree also includes major prizes, donated by the sponsors. All trees along with the prizes will be auctioned off to benefit the charities.

Fantastic...Got front row seats at the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman. We saw T Gram Brown, Lisa Neugent, Jimmy Dickens, Jack Green, Lady Antebellum Riders in the Sky and Emerson Drive. Emerson Drive sang Moments and a new song that they only sang about a dozen times before titled "Extra Mile"...great!

We left TN around 11 am. Arrived at Mill Creek RV Park.in Elkmont, AL. Set up, got groceries at Wal-Mart, and vegged the rest of the day. Dave’s back was really hurting him. Notified Keri of our arrival.

Decided to stay here another night. We both were exhausted from all the excitement in Nashville. Keri, Jordan, Connor and Keri’s Mom will be here for dinner. I made a potato and pasta salad. Left Keri’s house around 9:30 and drove southwest to Albany, GA. It was a beautiful day. On the way we saw many farms of pine trees. Arrived at Devencrest Travel RV, 1833 Liberty Expressway S. Today we went to Tin Cup Driving Range & Pro Shop, 10810 South Suncoast Blvd. Homosassa, FL 34448 so Dave could practice his swing. For not hitting a ball for over a year he did really well. Joan hit a few balls also and did very well. This is only the third time she has played at all. Dave is a little sore this evening but nothing that he can’t handle.

Headed for the ocean around 12:30. Arrived at Fort Island Gulf Beach & Fishing Pier around one. So breath taking…. I love the ocean so. We soaked in some sun, walked the beach and the boardwalk, had a cold one and just plain relaxed. The sun is so soothing…it just helps your whole being. For a short while you just let all of your troubles leave.

Our next stop was Aunt Joan's and Uncle Jim's. What a wonderful time. We so enjoyed our visit...we hope that Aunt Joan didn't overdue because she is recovering from surgery as she had to have her appendix removed. Dee came over everyday to check in on all of us and she and Gloria took us all site seeing. There is a great deal of civil war historical heritage around Amelia Courthouse. They showed us where they liked to fish and go tubing on the James river. We could see Jimmy Dean's castle just a little ways down river. We went to Fox Creek where Gloria lives with her daughter.
