Siem Reap journal: a week in the angkor kingdom

I had been in thailand for 2 months at the end of an 8 month stint of travelling around asia and was just about to head back to australia as my money was running low but thought because i was so close and didnt know when i'd be back i better just head to see the angkor temples that have always intrigued me.

So i decided to take a bus from bangkok to siem reap. i had been on many long bus rides during my travels so was used to all the situations that arise along the way and the ride to cambodia i must say has to be one of the worst roads in thailand then at the border you have to get out ...

McLeod Ganj (Upper Dharamsala) journal: the peace of dharamsala

I first planned to stay in Mcleod Ganj for 3 days but i had been travelling and moving non-stop for 3 months already and just something about the aura of the place made me fell like it was a good place to have a rest for a week. There wasnt really much i wanted to do there i was just happy wandering around the town and getting some photo editing done in the hotel.

Then after i went up to triund i became good friends with Norbu, the young guy who took me up there. He is a really great guy, of tibetan descent and spoke good english. His family had a little shop there, the green shop in ...

McLeod Ganj (Upper Dharamsala) journal: a view to die for

If i can remember right it was a 4 or 5 hour hike up to triund from mcleod. not a very hard or steep hike and you walk through some lovely village scenes. but its tiring enough, and when you reach the top you are blown away by what you see. there is a grassy plateu on the top and on the other side a huge mountain. its really amazing.

i had arranged to go up with a local guy named norbu who i later became very good friends with and who is now living in america. We had the plan to just sleep under the stars with sleeping bags around a fire but after chatting to a guide who was there with a ...

McLeod Ganj (Upper Dharamsala) journal: simple but friendly

the green hotel is a very simple hotel, small room with a bed and bathroom. had hot water and warm blankets, this was the most important thing. food was pretty good in the restaurant too and had internet cafe.

Kuta journal: the villas bali hotel and spa

first thing i wanna say is, check out the website www.thevillas.net because this is what got us to stay there. it might sound like a bit of a promo but we really thought the villas bali was the perfect place for us. 'us' is meaning, me, and 4 of my friends from sydney.

the trip started out as an idea for 'the boyz' to go on a little trip to go wild and that we did. We'd all been to bali before and knew that was the perfect place to go coz it wouldnt cost too much, the surf was great and the girls are hot. next step was finding somewhere to stay. usually we stay in a hotel and get a few ...
