Lahaina journal: Day Two: Maui - Lahaina - Hawaii

Today I woke up at 4:30 AM... there was no more sleep for me :( My clock will be off for a couple of days. Not much to do a 4:30 am, I just repacked a bit and packed a day pack. I headed out in search of an outdoor yoga class. Before my trip I found a class online that was given right on the beach. It's a good thing I left around 5:30 cause it took me 3 hours to find it. I did have breakfast and coffee and checked out the sites on the way. It was located in a hotel in West Maui in Ka'anapali. I had a very nice relaxing but difficult yoga class by the wave crashing sea.

Not much to say... after traveling 20 hours to get to Maui and with the time change, I basically got settled in the hotel and fell asleep at 8pm (2AM east coast time). I did get a nice look around from the airport to the Hotel and it was soothing to see beautiful flowers and Palm (coconut?) trees. Not to mention the vivid green mountains (old volcanos). I just didn't think much of the landscape besides beach, beach, beach... I was so pleasantly awakened to all that Hawaii has to offer.

I traveled to Hawaii to the Island of Maui on March 29th 2007. I toured the Island with a friend from New York (Sam) until April 3rd when we jetted to Kauai. I toured the Island half the time with Sam and half the time solo until April 9th when I left to come back to the mainland.
