Well the deal wasn't quite signed sealed and delivered - but that didn't stop us from celebrating the sale of XXXXXXXX well I can't really put any details online until it's kosher but you know what I mean and who I'm talking about. It's all a bit hush hush.....I'm trying to sound 80's.....

Jeff bought an 80's brick mobile phone from Ebay - as you can see fom the photo's he conducted several important deals that night - the most important buying 50 tonnes of lanb from Australia! I had to take some calls and answered "Mr Jeff Shillito's phone - no I'm afraid he's not available at the ...

Blairgowrie journal: Saturday Night Dinner Party

Hello all - took some pics over the weekend when Jeff and I went to Stay with Helen and Stewart. I didn't realise it had been so long since I had been up there - I think it was before easter!

Check out these photo's - Helen is blurred in most of them because she was continually running around getting dinner organised!! I managed to get one shot when I asked her to sit still!!! It was a lovely dinner with antipasto to start with - then beautiful steak pie (excellent pastry arranged by Stewart) followed by Blairgowrie rasberries and strawberries (which they know I LOVE so much!)

Gord ...

Edinburgh journal: Camping and other stuff...

Thought I would write ANOTHER Blog about camping and stuff we have been doing over the last couple of weeks...

COLDINGHAM

The first camping trip of the scottish summer season was down to Coldingham - which is about one hours drive south of Edinburgh. We had been down the beach for a BBQ the weekend previously and thought it was such a pretty spot that we should go and camp there. It looked like what I imagined a typical british seaside town would be like. A medievil village and loads of country cottages with boathouses lined along the coast. Of course it wasn't hard camping there ...

Blairgowrie journal: Visiting the Grandparents!

Here are some pictures of me Dad and Val visiting Helen and Stewart in Blairgowrie when Dad was here in December. It was so cold when we went up there (it's about an hours drive from Edinburgh but oh so much colder) the entire landscape was white - it wasn't snow it was actually frozen. All the trees and fences and fields were covered in ice....and the river was also frozen!!! Reminded me of the land of Narnia from the lion the witch and the wardrobe...everything is white when they go through the back of the cuboard!!

After I went skiing in France I jumped on a bus and went to visit my ...

I have just had the best couple of days skiing in the French Alps at a resort called Les gets about one hours drive from Geneva (Switzerland) and absolutely beautiful!! It's the first time I have skiied in Europe and I was blown away by the ENORMITY of the Alps they are huge!!! Too big to describe and about 500 times bigger than any Australian ski resort - as we flew into Geneva I took some photo's from the plane of the tops of the mountains poking out of the top of the clouds and this was at about 10,000 meters!!!!aug

Jeff and I arrived on Tuesday afternoon and met Jade and Vaugny at ...

Dublin journal: Tree days in Dublin!

Dublin was grand! I met Jade at the Dublin airport she flew in from London and I flew in from Edinburgh and we caught a local bus into town. It’s not as ‘old worlde’ as Edinburgh but it still has it’s own charm and I love the Irish people!

We stayed in an area called Temple Bar which is the oldest part of town with cobbled streets and hundreds of bars! It’s very touristy but lots of atmosphere and buskers and music playing in the pubs. We found it really hard to find any accommodation for the Saturday night and were lucky to find a room in a good hostel called Oliver St John Gogarty.

Day 1

Well after catching a flight down from Edinburgh to London on Tuesday 2 October I caught the stanstead express train into London and then the tube into the city. Jade told me to get off at Tottenham Court Road underground station, but I accidentally got off one stop early and got lost!

Lost in London at about 7.30pm and raining – what’s a girl to do? Find a pub of course and wait for Jade to rescue me!! She found me about 8pm and we walked back to her apartment which is near Oxford Street (famous shopping strip in London). But never got the time to check it out as we were up ...

Well Morrocco was certainly a lot different to what I was expecting....although several people had tried to warn me (including mum and dad) I didn't listen.
Edinburgh journal: Happy Birthday To Me....

Well it’s official I’m 31 years old…..oh my GOD!! It’s not that bad really – pretty happy with being overseas and feeling content with my life so far!

My birthday celebrations started pretty well in advance. I think it was a food birthday on Sunday Shaan made pancakes which were great. We went out on Monday night – had some Moet at home before we went out and some ordeves (spell?) dips and cabbana classy! We went out to a couple of clubs in the city and had a bit of a drunken night...have now decided to detox for 6 weeks at least! Decided to start my 31st year with a healthy focus and ...

Edinburgh journal: Our new apartment

Hello - finally here are some photo's of our new apartment in Edinburgh. It's so nice to have a permanent address after travelling around and lugging a massive suitcase around for the past couple of months. It was strange to unpack!

It is in the best position - Haymarket is a big junction with a train station about 10 mins walk to the heart of the city and it's also where the airport bus departs from. So it's about 5 - 10 min walk to the bus in the morning and then takes 20 mins to get to the airport. It leaves early enough 4.30am to make the first flight 5:15am report time!!! I actually ...

Edinburgh journal: Sunday afternoon in Edinburgh

Well had a nice walk today through Edinburgh and around the castle - it's so amazing and imposing. Can imagine people from the 1700 - 1800 walking around through the old cobbled streets etc

Went into the national gallery and looked at some monet and van gogh - it was free entry which is great get to feel cultured even when broke!!

Not much else has been happening - we have found our new house which is on Douglas cresent. Shaan and I went for a walk around the Haymarket area (which is the suburb) and we have our own private gardens opposite the apartment (feels like the secret ...

London journal: Arriving in London

Hi Guys,

Haven't had much time to update because of training and time available on computers....but here are some photo's I took when I was exploring London. I hadn't met anyone when I took these so I jumped on a train from Luton which is north of London and cost me about £15 pounds return which I thought was pretty expensive but then EVERYTHING is expensive in London! So i caught a train into Kings Cross and changed lines to Piccadilly then got off at Leicester square (which I was pronouncing lichester not lester...) anyway walked around and stumbled on Trafalgar square which is ...

I went into one vintage shop and it had the walls lined with glass cases that stretched up to the ceiling and probably about 20 shelves top to bottm about 10 meters long - filled with shoes, Prada ...

Well I have three days left of training in London (and i really should be studying now) but thought I'd send another update and some more photo's! I only have my first aid exams to go - these are pass and fail and becasue it's aviation first aid it's harder than the normal course - becasue we are up in the air and we are it in the event of an emergency basically! So we are learning how to deliver babies etc (gross don't think i ever want to have one after seeing video's about it) but it's interesting at the same time.

So the three of us are going up to Edinburgh next Sunday to check out ...

Edinburgh journal: Enchanting Edinburgh

So I have finally arrived in Edinburgh and it took my breath away when I first arrived by bus from the airport with Shaan - just seeing this castle come out of nowhere it's practically in the middle of the city and enormous! It's so King Arthur I love it!

Staying with the lovely Val who has put the three of us up for a couple of nights so that we can explore the city and also look for some accommodation - although today we went looking and thought we had some houses lined up but they fell through for some reason or other so I was a bit disheartened. But we have a few more to look at ...
