Fiji journal: Updated !!! 6/25 - 7/3

I decided it was finally time to add the story that goes with the pictures I posted. I am back in the US now and there was so much that has happened since the last entry I made. The last time I wrote it was the time when everyone started leaving Lismore one by one. Let me start back with that Thursday.

Thursday we had to say good bye to two of our close friends Josh and Ginger. They left that morning to head back to New York and let me tell you it was hard enough. That day I started studying for my final the next day, but it was really hard to concentrate. My last final was that next day ...

Nimbin journal: 6/13 - 6/19

Since the last entry the only exciting thing that has happened has been celebrating my birthday. What a better place for it to take place then in Australia! Wednesday we woke up and didnt do a whole lot until later in the day. A few of the family were leaving on my birthday, so we decided to start celebrating it that night. The next day we woke up to the girls running in the room throwing balloons all over and giving me the sweetest cards ever. There are so many inside jokes that we have created since being here and I have picked up the nickname Chunna. It is a long story, but lets just say it ...

Fraser Island journal: 6/2 - 6/12

Hello everyone! These past few weeks have been exhausting traveling and I am just glad to be back in Lismore. Let me start where I left off on my last travel blog. The day before I left to go to Fraser Island I was starting to get sick, and just my luck continued to. We left early that morning on an 8 hour bus ride out to Rainbow Beach where we would stay for the next couple of days. I ended up getting a sinus infection on top of not being able to here and also had a cold. This trip was probably the worst I have felt since being here. It only made it worse that there winter is starting and the ...

Whitsunday Islands journal: 5/26 - 6/1 Updated w/ story and pics!

Hello everyone! Sorry, but this is going to be a long entry... there is so much to tell! I decided it was time to sit down and reflect on what I have been doing the past couple of weeks. Amy, Kelly, and myself just got back from a fabulous break away from school, and used the time to visit Whitsundays which was amazing!!!! First off let me rewind back to the past couple of weeks. We left for the islands on May 26th and just got back. The week prior to that was my last week of school until finals which is in two more weeks. I pretty much have a three week break until it all comes down to the ...

Lismore journal: 5/7 - 5/15

Wow! I was sitting around today trying to get my life in order, and I realized that I dont have a lot of time left here. I am sure that to people back home it seems like I have been gone forever, but being here I feel like I am on a permanent vacation! Today is already the 15th of May and I still have a ton of traveling to do before I leave. In two weeks Kelly, Amy, and myself will be renting a wicker van and road tripping it to Whit Sundays. It will probably take us a few days to get there, so I am sure that I will have plenty of adventures from that. Once we get there we are taking a boat ...

I am finally here! Alright I know that I have been struggling to keep in contact with everyone, but here it is. Let me start back 2 weeks to when I left Minnesota. The flight down here was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. When we left the cities we flew to California, then Sydney, then Brisbane, and from Brisbane we took the bus to Lismore. For those of you that I havent talked to let me tell you that this place is beautiful. When we first got here I realized that we really are out in the wilderness. I have experienced my first encounters with cockroaches and giant spiders. ...

I didnt realize how much time has flown by since I last wrote on here. There has been so much that has been going on, but lately I have been so busy with school as well. The end of the semester is coming near, so it is time for me to focus on all of my projects and presentations that are due the next couple of weeks.

Besides all the school work that I have been doing, I have also been having fun like usual. We got back from Sydney two weeks ago, and adjusted back into our normal school lives. Monday, Tues, and Wed that week we pretty much stayed low key and watched movies and worked on ...

Sydney journal: Sydney Trip 4/3 - 4/15

The past week and a half has been a blast! Last Wednesday night we went out just before leaving the next day for Sydney. Thursday we woke up super early and caught our flight into the big city and the scenery here was incredible. Lismore, where we live and go to school, is about 9 hours away from the big city life of Australia. As soon as we got here Thursday we just settled in and got acquainted with the town that Mic lives in. Mic is the girl from campus that has the house in Manley on the beach. All we do is walk about a block and we have ocean. It is amazing! I can not even imagine growing ...

Coffs Harbour journal: 3/12/07 PICS

So this weekend we were supposed to go sky diving, but didnt end up making it back in time. We left on Saturday morning bright and early and headed up to Coffs Harbour to watch the guys rugby game. We have not seen a real Australian sport since we have been here so it was exciting. We ended up staying at Mitches parents house, which was so nice to be in a family setting again. His parents and siblings were super nice and very accomodating. They made us lunch and dinner and had beds and everything ready for us. The game was ridiculous. In true Australian rugby they dont wear padding and go all ...

Lismore journal: 3/9/07

So its been a few days since my last entry, but nothing exciting has really happened. I pretty much had school on Mon, Tues, and Wednesday, and the past couple of nights we have just been chillin. Last night we did get together with Mitch, James, Mark, and Chris... the Aussie boys that live near campus, and made them dinner. We figured that since they cooked for us last week it was time for us to return the favor. All three of us girls really have no idea how to cook, so we pretty much just made spaghetti bake with salad and breadsticks. I think that by the time we actually got to eating we ...

Here are a few more pictures from our many adventures. Every week on campus they hold those theme parties down at the Unibar for the entire college. This past Thursday was toga night, but stone age style. I am posting quite a few pictures of our many attires. I dont think that we have ever put together and made outfits as quickly as we did that night. This was probably one of the best nights I have had since being here. Every day is awesome, but this party was crazy and super fun! This past weekend we actually took our trip up the Gulf Coast to Surferes Paradise and watched the worlds largest ...

Alright, so school started this week, and the structure here is great! I had to change a few things, but I only have one class each day on Mon, Tues, and Wed. That means that I have a 4 day weekend every week. Sweet! The college that I am attending here is Southern Cross University. It is great because they have a bar right in the middle of campus called the Unibar. Everyone just meets up there during the day and after classes to mingle and get a drink. The great thing about that place is that every Thursday they have theme night where everyone gets to get dressed up and go crazy. Last week ...
