Kona journal: Lot of money for little portions

Nice atmosphere. Waitress very knowledgeable about their food. Very tasty, nicely prepared food but very pricey for the amount of food you get. They even tell you that the chef cut down on the portion size. (His own personal crusade against obesity, perhaps?) I ordered the osso bucco and all I could get from it was THREE forkfuls. Everything is ala carte, and they bring the soup, salad and entree, AT THE SAME TIME! Better eat your soup fast or your entre goes cold. We found this very awkward. Not recommended

Kona journal: Enjoyable pizza with GREAT beer

Friendly, fast service, very good pizza with even better beer. Try their Heffeweitzen(wheat beer). Prices suprisingly not extortionary.

Kona journal: Waikaloa Lodging:Pricy for nothing special

Pretty nice room on 6th floor of the Lagoon Tower, but nothing special. Too bad construction was going on so we couldn't enjoy the balcony due to the noise. No beach access. Grounds were nicely kept but there were some not-to-plesant odors wafting about, especially near the grotto. It was fun watching the dolphins and sea turtles in the lagoon. GRIPE:We couldn't believe that guests were charged $9/day to park there. I thought this was shameless gouging.

Las Vegas journal: Good times in both the real and unreal Vegas

This was my husband and my second visit to Vegas. On our first trip, we were initiated to the Strip's grandeur and sleaze. (Ladies, try to walk between your man and the Mexicans snapping and shoving stripper cards at him). We stayed at the Venetian this time. I think this hotel/casino is one of the most visually impressive on the Strip. Painted ceilings and marble abound inside and out.

We saw the Blue Man Group's show on our first visit--funny and visually exciting. This visit, we saw Cirque du Soleil's "O". I never figured out the weird story, if there was one, but the performers were ...
