I had looked forward to this trip so much cos I've been wanting to go der for de last couple of yrs. I booked the accommodation through Ping Anchorage. After much research on de net & talking to those who have been der, I decided on Coral Redang Resort . It was one of the two more expensive resorts, but it's worth de little extra you pay, believe u me.

Once again, I booked my trip online (with a Malaysian tour company called Ping Anchorage - very reliable)....so each of us paid abt SG$200 lesser than if we'd booked with our local agents! :-)

The resort has 40 detached and semi ...

Phuket journal: Phuket and Krabi

As I told u earlier, I went back to Phuket cos I didn't have enuf of it de last time....

But dis time..it was with a group of frens (abt 7 of us I think - Alvin, Tay & de gang)...and once again we were at Holiday Inn (oh did I tell u de breakfast der is superb! The best so far! Wide, wide variety!) The hotel has two seperate buildings..the newer one is called the Busakorn Wing. They even have a seperate pool for the two...but guests could use either of the pools....the one at Busakorn Wing is way bigger and better...I feel....

Dis time, my trip was to be 4 days in Phuket & 3 in ...

Right after my Bali trip, in de first week of the 2nd term of school..... Off I went to Phuket! Was my first trip der (and many more followed!) I absolutely loved de place...stayed at Holiday Inn.....and I love de hotel & the service the staff provides so much ...dat Holiday Inn has always been my choice for my subsequent trips der .... (they should pay me for giving dem such gd publicity huh)

The highlight of the whole trip was the island-hopping trip (which includes Phi Phi island of course).........it cost abt 1300baht (full day). I left as early as 6.30am and got back only ...

Bali journal: Bali AFTER the Sari Club Bombing

A few months after the Sari Club bombing, I went to Bali again.......... This was also just before the SARS breakout....March holidays... I stayed at a cosy hotel with beautiful landscaping and pool....called Kuta Paradiso...very nice place to stay..better than Hard Rock Hotel....& cheaper too! As soon as I walked down Kuta beach...the difference was so striking....as compared to the last time I was der.....(in my earlier post)....

There were hardly any bare-bodied ang-moh tourists around....and the whole stretch of beach was so much quieter and less buzz all round....

Australia's North Coast journal: Downunder in Mar 1998

My first trip to Australia was another wonderful experience. This time it was a ladies' outing..Gina, Elsie, Loraine & myself.......Once again, we had a fren whom we stayed with ... Margaret ... she lives in a small town 10 mins from Brisbane.......so we got to exlpore Brisbane & Goldcoast from a local's perspective. Knowing a local also means we had ample opportunity to mingle with the locals in that town.

There was even this small pub & restaurant, some kind of a sports club, where the senior citizens gather to play BINGO on a Sunday afternoon.... :-) The food there was good ...

My very first trip to Bali! Went with Loraine (Mummy) & Thomas. We were lucky that a fren, Patrick, was an expat there....so bunked in his huge house for the 7 days we were der.

First impression of Denpasar.....hmmm...not too great...lots of cab drivers waiting to pounce on tourists......so was relieved dat Pat came to fetch us......went straight to his 5 bedroom semi-d......it was sooooo huge.......and guess how much it cost???? Like S$400 a month!!!!! And he has 2 maids to look after his son, Adam....cook, clean etc etc..........

I have always wanted to share my travel experiences with others.......cos I know how difficult it is sometimes to get unbiased info on certain destinations and accommodation (speaking from experience of course!) :-)
