Victoria journal: Day 4 off to vancouver Island!

Took the bus from vancouver to the ferry. Was brilliant - only 50c and as long as you didn't get off the bus and kept on the same journey, you paid no more!! there really should be something like this back home!

The ferry journey

And what did | see on the ferry journey? Killer whales - a whole pod of them!! Awesome. Arrived with travel buddy Anthony mid afternoon - was a scortcher so he took me jet skiing! had never done it before - it was wicked!! Off to the North of the Island to camp next

Montreal journal: day 62: Homeward bound!

Have just had a fantastic few weeks in this area. Did a whirlwind tour of Toronto, Niagara, Quebec and Montreal - off to the airport in a few hours, can't believe it's all abouit to be over. In brief, here's what happened:

TorontoPartied loads with Dave and Al. A really cool city, it was good to catch up with the lads. They took me down to the wine region and we saw all the sites. A cool, trnedy place.

Niagara fallsOne massive waterfall! What more can I say. very impressive. When you lean over the railings just feet above the rushing water there is a scary tendancy to jumnp in! The ...

Ottawa journal: Day 40: Reached Ottawa, the capital

It was a long old hitch to get here. Took a while to get round lake Superior. Funnily enough I had heard a story when I was hitching in Oz about the toughest hitching spot in the world - this road round the lake. There is a place called Wawa where legend has it a hitch-hiker never left. Nothing sinister - he met a local girl, they fell in love and he stayed! I passed through wawa pretty quickly. the roads are long and lonely, surrounded by forest - you can see why people don't pick up hitch-hikers. I did eventually get picked up - by the guy who took the shot - he was a bit of a loon / very ...

Winnipeg journal: Arrived in Winnepeg - half way!

Had an incredible hitching session all the way from Edmonton to Winnipeg. I took three rides and waiting only 20 minutes in totla on the side of the road. One car pulled up just as I got out of the first ride! :O) Didn't like Winnipeg much. Unfortunatly I got dropped off in the middle of town at midnight and there were loads of drunks hanging around. Didn't feel safe, so ended up at the salvation Army who gave me a bed and left early the next day. they were really good to me - so please stick some money in their tins for me when they collect - I owe them!

Headed off to meet a mate then ...

Calgary journal: Day 15: Calgary Rodeo

Sorry, have missed a bit in my diary here. Got to calgary just in time for the calgary Rodeo. A brilliant event - my first rodeo. Who would want to be a rodeo clown!! The next day I did a 10,000 foot tandem skydive with one of the guys who appeared in the rodeo as The Flying Elvis's - a skydive team. And his name? Gordon Bennett! Serious... :O)

Vancouver was an amazing place. It has the mountains, the vibrant city and of course the islands just off the coast. I stayed in vancouver with friends chilling out for a few days and then decided to head on to Victoria on vancouver Island.
