Dinner at Seeger's has been one of the most sought-after reservations in town since the doors opened late in 1997 -- and for good reason. This is the domain of internationally recognized chef Guenter Seeger, the high priest of Atlanta cuisine, who worked his magic for 12 award-winning years at the Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead. Seeger had fans on an emotional roller coaster during the summer of 2006, when it was first announced that the restaurant would close, then that it would remain open, and then that it was definitely closing. But it didn't. Set in a converted cottage, this place is as much about theater as it is about food. The atmosphere is sleek yet simple, an uncluttered background for an elegant dinner. Each prix-fixe meal is a series of beautifully prepared and presented little treasures from the kitchen. The menu changes daily; seasonal truffle menus are sometimes available. The wines are excellent, and the service is smooth and pampering. If you choose the chef's menu, which is served at the "chef's table," you have the added pleasure of glimpsing the master and his team at work in the kitchen.With only 11 tables, Seeger's has very limited capacity; the dining experience typically lasts 2 to 3 hours.
