With all the upscale eateries popping up in the downtown area, you might miss out on an old-school standby like this little storefront. Tucked between high-rises and just off Dong Khoi, this is one of many restaurants whose name is its street number (if this one is busy, try no. 19). The atmosphere is plain, but they serve excellent traditional Vietnamese food without any bells, whistles, or sticker shock. The place is jolly and filled with locals, tourists, and expats. Ask what's good, and try the seafood, anything done in coconut broth, or the sautéed squid with citronella and red pepper.
