Al-Diwan was recently elected the city's 'second-best inexpensive restaurant'. Since having been founded in 1996, Al-Diwan (meaning cosy sitting room for royal guests) has placed itself amongst the leading and most respected Indian restaurants in town. This is due partly to the high quality of its very spicy Tandoori and Biryani dishes from the Indian and Pakistani cuisines, and partly to its unusual selection of traditional Indian/Pakistani desserts.
