The Psirri entertainment district is renowned for its numerous mezedopolia—traditional tavernas serving mezedes, or appetizers: Greeks often skip the main course and order a large selection of appetizers with a base of meat, seafood or vegetables. Silfio—located on the pedestrianized Taki Street—is typical of these eateries. Its informal atmosphere and simple but tasty dishes make it the perfect place for a relaxed dinner and long chat with friends. Diners are entertained with live music from Wednesday to Sunday.
