Don't leave Amherst without eating at Judie's. The vivacious owner does her best to suit every taste. Just to keep things ticking, for example, there's a "Munchie Madness" period from 3 to 6pm, with a snacks menu of potato skins, nachos, hummus and black bean dip, and so forth. Throughout the day, folks drop by for a cup of seafood bisque and one of the trademark popovers. Typical dinner entrees are the steak, the three-mushroom risotto, and the seafood gumbo with shrimp, sausage, scallops, salmon, and lobster. This being a college town, portions run from really big to immense, the better to assuage raging young metabolisms.
