This serene and gentle eatery offers L.A.'s best Pacific New Wave. It has enjoyed top success, landing on many top-ten lists for food in town. Owner-host Andy Nakano will greet you with a small offering of fine sake poured from a chilled pitcher. Then settle in and enjoy one of many unusual and appealing appetizers. Specialties include Calamari Salad with Lemon grass and Jalapeño dressing and Sonoma Quail with a Tangerine Glaze. Also featured are more kinds of sake than you ever knew existed for $7 and up. Far from the usual noisy and crowded restaurants in town, this is a tranquil and special change of pace.
