Övelgönner Fährhaus is located at the museum harbor, and it is best reached by busline 112. After an excellent meal you can go for a walk along the beautiful Elbuferweg or visit the old ships. The anterior of the Fährhaus is white and green, and with its red roof it looks like a Friesian house. The best summertime tables with a great view of the river Elbe are on the terrace. The restaurant has a comfortable, laid back setting- particularly on the first floor, where several separate sections provide a perfect ambience for small festive occasions. Fish and seafood lovers will enjoy the traditional Hamburg meals. There are several variations on local fish including popular regional recipes. The sophisticated cuisine is come at a price, however. Plaice, herring and sole are always on the menu, but salmon and crustaceans are also available.
