'Al Mercante' is located in the heart of Milan's old town, and is very popular with tourists. It is furnished in a simple and elegant, although rather old-fashioned, style. It has a garden where you can eat during the summer, and which has a beautiful view over the square behind the Duomo. The cuisine concentrates on traditional Italian food such as cold meat starters, fresh pasta first courses, and meat or fish second courses. The desserts are all home-made and there is a long wine list.
