Don't let the unprepossessing decor fool you; the kitchen serves authentic Italian cuisine, and a long list of Capetonian regulars will attest to it. Mario passed away back in the early 1980s, but his widow, Pina, single-handedly kept the family business growing, now ably assisted by her daughter Marlena and son Marco. The menu features everything you'd expect from an Italian restaurant (pasta is homemade and delicious), but the specials -- almost as numerous as the menu items -- are what's really likely to get your mouth watering. Pheasant, guinea fowl, quail, wild duck, rabbit -- you name it, Pina cooks it. Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice.
