The menu is limited to about 6 appetisers and 6 mains, which include mussels, a sweet vegetarian curry and pasta, and the food is average and over-priced. The service, however, is fairly friendly and well-meaning. The candle-lit tables and live jazz music provide a cosmopolitan yet intimate setting. The perfect place for relaxed drinks and a chat among friends, but the food is definitely not Zanzibar's strong point. Pleasantly situated on the Rhône river opposite the impressive Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, and filled with the sounds of jazz, the Zanzibar has a hip, refined atmosphere.
