More information on Grøften
One of the older restaurants atTivoli Gardens, this place was originally called Teatercaféen, but its nickname was Grøften (the Ditch), as it was built on the side of an old moat. Later, the restaurant changed its name to Grøften. This place is as popular among celebrities as it is among locals. In the old days, this was just a little café where Tivoli's musicians and workers enjoyed their packed lunches. Today, it holds up to more than 135 customers. Like a typical Danish restaurant, it serves classic, traditional cuisine. A selection of open sandwiches, shrimp and lobscouse are the ideal specialties of the house.
