More information on Clay Pit

An elegant setting -- a historic building with wood floors and exposed limestone walls, lit with soft lamps and votive candles, and sumptuous recipes, including creative curries and other sauces rich with nuts, raisins, and exotic spices -- raise this brainchild of a husband-and-wife team and a New Delhi-trained chef to gourmet status. The starter of perfectly cooked coriander calamari is served with a piquant cilantro aioli. For an entree, consider khuroos-e-tursh, baked chicken breast stuffed with nuts, mushrooms, and onions and smothered in a cashew-almond cream sauce, or one of the many dazzling vegetarian dishes. A bargain buffet and a variety of wraps made with nan make this a great lunch stop while touring the nearby capitol.
