This Relais & Châteaux member stands on 10 hectares (25 acres) of parkland. The castle is at the edge of a hill, surrounded by vineyards. The 12th-century turreted residence has been renovated by a series of distinguished owners, ranging from a pope to a dauphin. Each room is done in Provençal style, with fabrics and furniture influenced by the region's 18th- and 19th-century traditions. As befits a château, rooms come in many shapes and sizes, and some are quite spacious. All have bathrooms with tub/shower. Both the food and the service are exceptional. You can enjoy meals in the stately dining room, barbecue by the pool, and refreshments on sunny terraces. Fixed-priced lunches cost 16€ to 32€ ($21-$42), fixed-price dinners 35€ to 85€ ($46-$111).
