Rivaled only by the Library, Thoroughbreds is one of the few places along the Grand Strand that truly specializes in fine dining. It has been a hit ever since it opened in 1990. Guests select one of four handsomely appointed rooms; it also has a garden terrace and a piano bar. The latest addition is a dining room that seats 30 and features a fireplace. The staff is among the best-trained at the resort, but the food is what keeps people coming back for more. The Caesar salad is prepared tableside by your server, or you might begin with a Caribbean seafood chowder. The steaks are among the juiciest and most tender along the Strand. You can order blackened prime rib or grilled rib-eye, among other selections. Several excellently prepared veal, duck, and chicken dishes are offered. Call for the entertainment schedule.
