We decided to ride the interstates to get to Lake George, NY. We left the house around 8:30 AM and arrived in Erie, PA by dinner time. It was HOT HOT HOT.
We stopped at one of the last Service areas in Indiana along the Toll Road only to find that the light in the trailer had gotten turned on by overpacking. It melted the plastic housing and burned the blanket we put over our stuff. My NEW Tourmaster cold weather coat has a burn mark on it also. It could have been worse...as in a fire.
We got to the hotel, cleaned up a bit and walked over to Bob Evans for dinner. After dinner, we took a dip in the hotel pool. The water was cool and felt good after a hot days ride. 1st day 421 miles
