Welcome, Bienvenidos, Bem-vindo.... We hope this travel blog will provide a glimpse into the many adventures we intend to have while traveling through South America. Our intentions are to share our experiences in exchange for any advice, thoughts, or comments anyone might have. We begin our journey deep in the Amazon, in the city of Manaus. From here we will travel down the coast of Brazil, pass through the farmlands of the little country that is Uruguay, on to Argentina where we will reach the End of the World. We will then venture into the lush vegetation of southern Chile and make our way to the driest desert on Earth. Then travel through the bumpy roads of Bolivia to our final destination of the Lost City of the Incas, in the Peruvian Andes.
This trip was meant to have had a third traveler. However, Chester will not be joining us for the obvious reasons; it is simply too difficult to travel with a dog using public transportation. He was definitely prepared for this trip, he had all of his shots and he had even been accepted by the airline. Instead Chester will be staying with his grandparents in sunny So. Cal. until we return.

Welcome, Bienvenidos, Bem-vindo....

What do you mean "Instead Chester will be staying with his grandparents in sunny So. Cal. until we return." Chester is a DOG, not a human! (For everyone on this blog, my wife and I are sheltering Andre & Marcela's dog until they return.) Hey, for all you guys in the NW: anyone into experimental planes or gyros? If so, contact me at the email below. I'm getting involved with it again (I built a plane about 25 years ago) and am always interested in hearing what others are doing -- and I know the Pacific NW is very active in this area.) johnandcida@sbcglobal.net
Johnny Sunshine says:
Glad you had an extra day to see Miami. For your friends in the Seattle area, I'd rather post a pic of what I rather be doing than what I look like. So the pic is an RAF 2000. It's a nice gyro but I'm more interested in a new design coming soon from Sportcopter (out of Oregon). So maybe someone on this blog knows something about gyros. Afer all, the Pacific NW has alsways been very active in the experimental aircraft area (although with the IFR conditions I don't know why flying's so popular there). Anyway, I retire soon and plan to build a gyro, then take a trip around the US and Canada in it. Anyone out there with gyro experience or stories?

Lee Hawkins says:
Keep updating with where you are and what you've seen. So sorry Chester won't be joining you, but he'll have a good time in California. Not sure I'd recognize Andre without his ponytail! The Loganberry OLA folks miss you--and envy you. Have fun.
