Wow. The drive up to Edinburgh from Bath was, to say the least, LONG! Please, all you Brits that read this, don't be offended, but you guys are freakin NUTTERS behind the wheel!!! I saw so many unsignalled lane changes, as well as people getting cut off, as well as people doing in excess of 90 miles per hour, it just shocked me. I thought I used to be a bit of a crazy person behind the wheel at times, but the Brits take the cake!
The scenery on the way up to Scotland was breathtaking. I wanted to stop and take photo after photo after photo. But unfortunately, we just didn't have the time to stop too often. We stopped at a few Services stations along the way, and had some nasty KFC food. Not at all like home, and I have to say we have the best KFC chippies in the world in Oz. Be thankful of what we have!! :) I am!!
The sheep were so small and fluffy. And they're so white!! Our sheep back in Aust are dirty and dusty etc, but the sheep here have nothing but green green grass to snack on, lay on, and poop on. No wonder they're clean all the time!!
We met up with Michael Dove and his partner Cassandra, once we arrived. Michael, or Dovey, has been a friend of mine for about a year or three now. He followed his woman over, and he's been here for about a year or so.
He and Cassy were kind enough to lend us their joint whilst they've gone to NY for the week. It was good to catch up with Dovey and to meet Cassy even if it was only for one night. They took us to a really nice little pub on the end of the street for dinner, then we visited another local for a drink. Then we came home as Kristy and I were exhausted, not to mention I was drunk as well. And also Dovey and Cassy had to finish packing and be up early for their taxi to the airport this morning.
Today Kristy and I got a tour ticket around Edinburgh for the busses, and we had a good look at the Edinburgh Castle. We thought it was just going to be a castle, but they had some really good displays in there. I took waaaaaaaaaaay too many pictures to put them all up here, but once again, I'll put up a few pics from yesterday and today at the end of today's blog.
NOTE: to all the guys on my emailing list - We made history yesterday. For the first time, 2 mugs from different continents met on another continent! And I'll post the photographic evidence. And by mugs, I mean cups, not me and Dovey!!
