Surely not, and after this day which brought us through nothing else than banana plantations everyone knew that this is where the bananas really are coming from. There is even a town called bananita and all cargo ships and trucks have either Chiquita or Dole logos on them. The interesting thing though is that the bananas seem to be for export only, as they only sell plantains in the local shops and markets.
After another early start, we headed back to mainland by watertaxi and then took a local bus which brought us in 1h to the boarder between Panama and into Costa Rica. All the buses stop on the Panama side and turn around. So we had to shoulder our backpacks and walk the 500m across an old railway bridge crossing over the Sixola river which builds the border. It was a hot and sweaty walk in the midday sun.

After visiting immigration offices on either side of the river we were now legally in Costa Rica and could board another bus which brought us to our final destination for today: Cahuita
Nasza kolejna przystania jest Kostaryka. Od Bocas del Toro do ....musze przyznac do granicy z Nikaragua widac tylko plantaze bananowe. Autobus z Bocas del Toro zawiozl nas do granicy, czyli do mostu. Przez most trzeba bylo przejsc samemu. Potem znow autobus i do wioski Cahuita. Tutaj autobusy nie maja juz klimatyzacji, ale musze przyznac, ze tu nie jest az tak goraco jak bylo w Panamie. Panama jest duszaco-klejaca, tutaj jest tylko goraco.
