Talkeetna - Mt McKinley Experience !!!

On 3rd July 2009 we drove from Grizzly Bear to K2 Aviation in Talkeetna. We had booked a glacier landing Mt Mckinley flight with K2 Aviation. We reached K2 around 12.00 pm. Our flight was at 1.00 pm. We were very lucky during our land tour in Alaska since it was sunny during those days & the weather was clear. The weather in Alaska is very unpredictable & sometimes to get the view of Mt McKinley is near to impossible. So make sure to check the weather before heading for the glacier landing tour. Our flight started at 1.00 pm & I opted to sit besides the pilot. It was an amazing sight from the front & I enjoyed the experience a lot. Its difficult to describe the beauty of glaciers when you see them from so close. The pictures you see will speak for the experience. Mt McKinley is the highest mountain of North America. It looks beautiful & powerful. After landing on the glacier, we took some pictures & played with the snow. The view of Mt McKinley from so close was amazing & breathtaking. This was the best flight experience I have ever experienced.

Then we shopped around Talkeetna for a while. The town is small but very beautiful. You can buy very good chocolates & don't forget to relish an ice-cream.

Glacier Landing Flight to Mt McKinley was a lifetime experience !!!

In the evening we took a jet boat tour in Talkeetna which is a great experience by itself not to be missed. An amazing exposure to the Alaskan culture & to experience the way people used to live in old days. Great tour !!!
