In the first week of October my parents came to visit! We went and saw Phantom of the Opera and Wicked (both phenomenal shows), and visited Canterbury on the weekend. The cathedral in Canterbury is stunning and we even got to stay to hear the evensong sung by the choir. The cathedral also houses the tomb of the Black Knight and the memorial candle for St. Thomas Becket. The town of Canterbury is also quite nice, with lots of parks and little restaurants and shops.

On Friday the 8th I went with my class to Bath, where we saw the Roman baths (go figure!) and walked around the city to see historical neighborhoods. The baths were absolutely fascinating and we got free audio-guides so we could learn about pretty much anything and everything within the bathhouse. One of the pools was traditionally used for making monetary gifts to the gods and is now something of a wishing well. The entire pool glittered with currency from all over the world, creating a very cool visual effect (and photo op.).
