We had planned to stay near Siena for two nights. We had found a very nice B&B near Siena, Villa Veronica. Although it has a pool, we both did not go in for a splash.

We stayed in a nice room at the first floor. The breakfast in the morning was good, but the view from the terrace where we were eating our breakfast was spectacular.

The first evening we went into Siena. Of course Il Campo is very impressive. The big rounded square with the Palazzo Pubblico, with its Torre del Mangia and the Fountain of Joy on the other side.

After some time we strolled along the little streets of Siena to arrive a the majestic Duomo. For some reason we decided to enjoy it from the outside only. I suppose this gives us a good reason to come back to Siena one day.

When the sun was setting we found a restaurant which was in quite a narrow and steep street. Outside they had four tables, but because the street was that steep, the legs of the tables and the chairs were uneven in order to make the tables and chairs stand straight. We could choose to eat inside or outside. If we wanted to eat outside we had to share the table with another couple, while three other tables were empty.
