The city is so beautiful! It was not stinky at all which was surprising since that is all you hear about venice. For how hot it has been this summer in Europe we were expecting full STANK. It was a perfect day with clear skys and we walked around and explored the city. There weren't too many tourists around either which was really nice. The city was so romantic.

The hostel we were staying at was recomended to us by many people. It was ran by 3 girls who were only a little older than us. They were awesome! The hostel was pretty small, had room for 25 or so and there was a big common area where everyone hung out. this was really nice cause this was the first hostel that was set up that way. We met so many cool people and intereacted with everyone. The hostel was on the second floor of this little island. The only way to access it was by going over the bridge. It was beautiful. The girls cooked us a delishious pasta dinner  (free!) for everyone. We all sat around the dinner table like a big family and ate and talked. The girls then took us out! We went to a local music festival in one of the main squares. We all drank and got to know one another. It was like we had known these people for a long time. We took a boat ride on one of the canals and headed  home around 2. The stars were amazing and the city was just wonderful.
