Brazil in Brief
From The map! in Brazil, Brazil on Sep 11 '09
Hola Amigos!!
We´ve just crossed the border into Bolivia from Brazil so heres a brief rundown of our two weeks in Brazil!!
Arrive in Rio. Plan was to sun ourselves and do very little other than drink cocktails on Copacobana beach, sight see, hanglgide then leave. REality, day one rains, drink cocktails in bar.. not bad. Day two sight see - the view from Christ the redeemer was beautiful! All going well...
Day 3 1 am disaster strikes, 2am disaster strikes again... yip, no nice way to say it but was sick as a sick thing - both ends, soo not ideal!! Jenny slept trhough my bathroom bother so when she awoke (after an annoyingly undisturbed sleep) I put her to work looking after me. After canceling our hanglide we thought a relaxing lie down at the beach was in order... instead of lying in warm sand we got sand whipping about our faces, arms, legs, no orivice was safe from the gail force winds!!
Left Rio as white as arrived... bugger!!
Bused to Fos du Iguazu, 24 hours on a bus - not much to tell there... The falls were beautiful despite the animal attack that Jenny experienced... note to self , dont carry food into a park with quati (raccoon type creature things)... they will attack!!
The Pantanal was our next stop and we trekked, safariied, camped (in hammocks- awesome!!), fished for pirahna (I even gutted one - gross!!) and boated around with the crocs, tucans, anteaters, parrots, waterpigs, snakes and of course the mosquitos... despite Jenny getting sick here we had a great time pretending to be Steve and Croc Dundee!!
Our final night in Brazil was in Curumba, 46 degress c, so not much done to celebrate other than swimming and sweating like pigs!!
Hope youre all well and will write again soooon!!
