First time I have tried this so hope it is worth reading. After a mamoth 24 hour plus trip we arrived in Barcelona. Our apartment was fantastic, very clean and only 15 minutes walk from the tourist areas of Barcelona. After catching up on sleep and adjusting to time zones we had a good look around the city. The highlights mainly centre around the architecture with Gaudi featuring prominently. We hada day trip to Montserrat a monastery high in the hills outside Barcelona. Very spectactular and to get there involves a funicular railway up the side of the mountain a big test for our fear of heights. Getting around Barcelona is easy with a get on get off open air tourist bus. True to its name Barcelona is full of bars serving beer/sangria and loads of different tapas.
