Rio Reality

We made it!! After 11.5 gruelling hours on the plane and the usual aeroplane food joy we finally made it to Rio. Almost immediately the people have proved to be brilliant -we met a guy at the airport bus stop and he went out of his way to show us where to go, very much appreciated considering it was dark and the heaviness of our bags (still getting used to those puppies!).

Our phone doesn´t work, unsure why at this point, we´ll sort it when we´ve stopped having so much fun!

Yesterday was spent touring Rio in all its glory. We went to Sugar Loaf, Christ the Redeemer -amazing views of the whole city, incredible! We also went to the Maracana stadium and stood in the footsteps of footballs greatest- Pele, Renaldo... A great day.

On Sunday, our first day here, we were meant to have a relaxing day on the beach recovering from the journey and working on our tans...hmmm....it rained!! So we relaxed in a bar instead- not too shabby! You´ll be pleased to hear that it´s back to 30 degrees and full sunshine (look out Copacobana- here we come!).

Plan now is to head to the Iguasu Falls, 22hours on a bus- great -we´ll keep you posted.
