Entry to Israel

Friends had warned us that you get grilled and interrogated once in Tel Aviv Airport so it came as a surprise to be questioned while queuing to check in still in Istanbul.  We were asked everything about what we were doing, it was quite intrusive but as the questions came thick and fast I felt like I was on a game show so was answering them really quickly and which made the Israeli questioner laugh so it was all good.  Met a French Jew at the airport who gave us some useful info and head into town on the train and then the number 10 bus.  Checked into a dinghy hostel and took a walk along the beach down to Old Jaffa which is the city supposedly founded by Noah's son after they came off the ark.  I've never seen so many stray cats before!  They covered the beach and parks along the beach.  Plus every local had one or two dogs each.  Was a lovely beach though and the walk is only 2km.  Explored Old Jaffa which took all of 10 mins and then watched the sun set from the park as well as watching a crazy cat stalk people.  Found Cafe Cafe for dinner and soon realised that Israel loves Sting.  Next day we went and got our Jordanian visas, spent some time at the beach while waiting and then head to Haifa.
