John o'Groats to Wick

Finally arrived in Thurso in the middle of the afternoon after completing a marathon 17.5 hour train journey, which began from London Euston Road, the previous evening. A 2 hour stop in Inverness gave me time to check out the local cycle shop for some very last minute supplies. Our first cycling challenge on Scottish soil was the 20 mile ride from Thurso train station to our official JOGLE starting location at John o'Groats. We arrived to raptuous appluase; the passers-by assumming we had completed the 1000 odd mile journey from Lands End!

And so it begins. Excitment. Anticipation. Apprehension. Our JOGLE commenced in earnest at 17:00 as we set-off from John o'Groats on the first leg of our journey; 17 miles down the East coast to Wick, passing the golden sands of Sinclair Bay on the way.
