Week 7

It’s another Bulge week.  I was assigned my own firm, PNC Financial Corp.  I prepared a short background on the company, its line of business and current events.  I also helped my boss research his company, Deutsche Bank. 

            This week, I was given the major assignment to help to update a file that tracks senior management in Private Banking firms.  This was an exploratory process that required I look on the company’s websites, look for new articles about the hiring/firing of senior employees etc….This can be very challenging because we are only concerned with the Private Banking sector of the business.  This means that I am not looking for just the CEO of the company but the CEO of Private Banking.  This information is not as readily available and takes time to locate.  Updating the management tracker file is an ongoing process, but I was able to find a lot of information especially for company’s that recently went through a merger and acquisition, like Bank of America/Merrill Lynch.  In the future, we will also try to find these employees compensation information in the survey data, so we can also put that information in the management tracker file. 

I helped track employement patterns of senior management in Private Banking firms.

            Also, I went to my first McLagan softball game.  Unfortunately, they didn’t win, but I still really enjoyed going to the game.  A lot of employees who are not on the team go to watch.  So the game was a great way to get to know some of the employees at McLagan a little better.  We played Crystal Rock which is our team’s biggest rival.  I really enjoyed going to the game even though they weren’t able to put together a win.
