I arrived bleary eyed and hungry.  Now I know why they call it a "red eye".  My flight left Seattle at 23:55 on August 23rd.  So, there I was, with my travel pillow in hand boarding the 747 for Nashville.  I had to talk myself into purchasing the pillow that wraps around your neck.  This was after seeing many folks walking around the airport with their real pillows from their beds at home.  I was sitting there, in front of my "small" coffee, which was a large coffee in my country,  (...note to self: when ordering anything in Nashville ask for a small, and you will get a large) thinking "how comfortable are those silly pillows anyways?", "I'm not spending $15.00 for a pillow that does nothing", "don't they give you pillows on the plane?"

I am glad I bought it.  It was worth the money that I spent.  The flight was long and uncomfortable.  I would just fall asleep, and "bing!, attention passengers, we are going into a bit of turbulance please fasten your seatbelts"....start falling asleep and "bing!" the light would go off.  OMG!  So thats how it went for the 4-5 hour flight.  Then I had to transfer in Ohio onto a tiny little plane heading to Nashville.  By the time I arrived, I had used the little $15.00 pillow as an arm rest, pillow, and a lumbar support.

I was picked up at the airport by the shuttle bus with a driver named Jeremy.  He asked me questions about where I was from.  I said Canada.  What part of Canada?  he asked.  I said British Columbia, it's near Washington.  "Oh yeah, so that would be southern Canada then?"  I said "Yes, I suppose it would be, south western Canada"  All this before I have had any sleep, or coffee.

I went to my room and unloaded my stuff.  "Ah....this will be my home for the next week!"  Looked around the hotel and they have a nice pool and gym.  I had a salad for supper and, again, it was on the menu as a side salad and it was huge.  I coule not believe it.  I debated about going out or staying in my room for the night.  I stayed in.  I was very tired and fell asleep around 20:00.
