Up at 7:00 went to the front desk to find out about what kind of excursions we could go on. Wasn’t much help, we already knew everything that they told us. Looked for rental cars online and didn’t have much luck there either. So we took off on foot to go downtown to find me a bathing suit. Still no luggage. On our route we come across a local rental car place, Cayman Car Rentals, so we made our way inside. He by far had the best deal that we had found on the island. The guy was from Tampa, but he had been to Bentonville, AR because his cousin used to live there, so that was a conversation in itself.

We rented our Jeep Wrangler! He also told us a few places to visit while we are here.

Thank goodness he could point

We take off through George Town and head east on our day of discovery. We followed the coastline through Bodden Town, where we stopped to take pictures of the different colors of the ocean. Beware if you ever get out of the car and walk across the beach where there may be Sand Spurs because they stick to everything. Sherry ended up having to throw her socks away. I know they have them in Florida but these Caribbean Sand Spurs seem to have a mind of their own and jump at us J

I did get a few good pictures from here.

We are back in the Jeep driving the coast again on our way to find Rum Point. Sounds good, huh? The drive probably doesn’t sound very exciting to you, but for the modern day, Thelma and Louise, we were content and having a great day.

Rum Point was fascinating and we have decided to come back and spend a whole day here later in the week.

Driving again, we made our way to the East End, nothing much here to see but the ocean is beautiful, of course. We drove back into town and now to discover the West End, go the Hell, (yes, Hell is a place and even has a post office) and find the Turtle Farm.

We are driving down back roads just to see what we can find when all the sudden we are both stopped in our tracks…the most gorgeous lime green iguana either of us had ever seen, right in the middle of the road. It was probably at least 5 feet long. We couldn’t get the camera turned on in time and he shuffled away. We were disappointed but did get a picture of a much smaller one later.

We still haven’t found the Turtle Farm so we see a local walking down the road, we think it’s a really good idea to stop and ask him directions. Be prepared not to understand any of the conversation, and be prepared to give him $2.00 for the conversation. Thank goodness he could point, we finally found the Turtle Farm but it is too late to go inside. We will save that for another day.

It is getting late so we drive back into town to find food. We drive by and stop at the Diver’s Supply at the Westshore Center and I finally found a bathing suit. Our next stop was food.

We stopped at the Aqua Beach Restaurant and Bar. We never quite ate our food, after the third margarita we just didn’t seem to be hungry anymore. Oh, well we are on vacation!!! So we wrapped our dinner up and finished the evening off with a few more margaritas talked to people from North Carolina, bless their little hearts, both of us drunk at that. Those two will probably never be the same. We made it back to the Condo by 10:30pm.

I’m sure it was hilarious watching us try to get the Jeep top up when it started raining. Hopefully we made some people laugh. It was a great day.
